Wood burning art ideas

When I have time to create my own designs, I like to draw from things that inspire me, personal experiences, places I’ve been, or things that I think my audience would like to see.

My favorite pieces are ones that have a special meaning to the person that ordered the work, or to me.

Any tips for beginners?

My best advice to beginners of wood burning is to be patient, taking the time to learn and improve.

Practice makes perfect, so find what works best for you and use that as your foundation, but most of all, have fun!

Another tip is that before I start burning, I like to use a pencil to lightly outline what my project is going to look like. It also helps to have a measuring tape or ruler handy, to ensure that sight lines and portraits are spaced out correctly.

Use this time to experiment, try different styles and you might discover something you really enjoy.

I have been looking for a place that would make a brand for a reasonable price using the design that we created for our homestead, and this is it. See more I have been looking for a place that would make a brand for a reasonable price using the design that we created for our homestead, and this is it. I was worried that the text on the design might all blend together and be illegible once it was burned into wood because the letters are quite close together, but they turned out beautifully and made nice fine lines. These are some of our results after experimenting with it for just a few minutes. We used our gas grill to heat the brand. The first picture shows the result after 2 seconds of pressing it into the wood (cedar). The second picture is after 3 seconds with some light sanding done to the top part to get rid of overburn. The third picture is after 4 seconds and no sanding. The fourth picture is of the brand itself, which I thought would be a 1 inch by 1 inch square but came trimmed to fit the shape of the design as shown - which is good because now I always know which side goes up. I was also pleased that it arrived well before its projected delivery date. I am very satisfied with this purchase.
