Therm-a-Rest
Why focus on comfort? It's the simple belief that the better you rest, the better you play. It's a universal truth that is readily apparent in our daily lives, but one that is too often overlooked at play. From the essential, life-preserving warmth that we've provided to some of the world's most significant expeditions, to a simple seat that turns a rocky outcrop into the most amazing lunch stop you've ever dreamed of, the right dose of comfort makes everything better by allowing you to be at your best.

Self-Inflating
The origin point of Therm-a-Rest. We designed the first self-inflating pad and we still produce the lightest, warmest, and most compact self-inflating pads available. Expanding foam core self-inflates; top off with just a few breaths for personalized firmness on 3 inches of StrataCore loft.
StrataCore
Yielding the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any self-inflating pad, StrataCore uses a continuous layer of thermal foam nestled between alternating ridges of air and foam.
Made in the USA
Made in the USA of the finest US and global materials.
Premium Comfort
Ultra-plush stretch knit fabric wrapped around 3 inches of premium foam provide localized support and superior loft.
What is R-value?
R-value is a measure of thermal resistance; the higher the R-value, the more thermally resistant the material or structure is. By selecting an appropriately insulated sleeping pad, you’ll stay warm throughout the night, and wake up prepared for the trail.

Description
Bring a legendary amount of comfort into the backcountry with the ultra-comfy Therm-a-Rest Trail Pro Self-Inflating Foam Camping Mattress. Available in two styles: Equipped with the Standard Valve, or equipped with the WingLock Valve which is able to inflate a pad three times faster than a standard valve thanks to a larger barrel and optional one-way inflation, but the Trail Pro with WingLock Valve has been redesigned from its predecessor. The WingLock style inflates to an impressive 3 inches making it one of the thickest self-inflating backpacking pads available, features Thermarest’s StrataCore construction that helps save weight while adding warmth, uses an ultra-cozy stretch knit fabric to maximize comfort in the backcountry, and boasts a 4.4 R-value for year-round adventuring (R-value measures the material’s ability to insulate; the higher the R-value, the warmer the sleeping pad). Where the Standard Valve style has a 4.0 R-value, and is 2 inches thick. Both styles feature an expandable foam core that will self-inflate; top off with a few breaths. Both styles include a stuff sack to protect the pad when it''s packed down. Made in the USA. Manufacturer’s limited lifetime warranty.

I have an Exped 10 sleeping mat for camping and a Sea-to-Summit Comfort light (1.3lbs) sleeping pad for hiking and was looking for something in between those extremes. As a side sleeper I need some cushioning otherwise my hips and shoulders are on the floor. So I ordered the T-a-R Trail Pro and the S-t-S Comfort Plus both in regular size and advertised as 3in thick sleeping pads! However after one night test sleeping on both, I woke up shattered, with T-a-R being the biggest disappointment due to: - While T-a-R Trail Pro is the lightest with 1.81lbs (vs. 2.12lbs), it is most narrow, the foam core is actually only measuring 18.75in in width! It doesn''t help if you have a good R-Value when your knee and your butt does not fit onto the pad at the same time (I''m 5''11 @ 160lbs). - The S-t-S is a bit better as it has a more rectangular shape and slightly wider, explaining the extra weight. - Both do not measure 3inch thickness, they are at most 2.5in thick! - Inflation and deflation is really good (on both) justifying one star. - T-a-R is the lightest for it''s thickness, hence 2 stars and if you are a back or belly sleeper it might be a very comfortable option! I''ve now ordered the ExPed Deep Sleep mat, which is also advertised at 3in thickness, maybe this time it is real 3in? It is about 1.5lbs heavier but isn''t good sleep priceless...

Really disappointed with Thermarest- honestly thought this company cared more about its reputation. The width is not really 25 inches unless you want to count the 2 inches on each side of the mat which is a flat seamed unfilled border— no material with no foam.

I purchased this product for a 45+ mile hike in the Ruby Mountains. On day 2, I found that the mattress had deflated. I thought I didn''t tighten the valve enough. So after filling it the next night, the following morning I was flat on the ground again. It was a long week of backcountry backpacking due to having to refill it every two hours. :( When I got home, I held it under the water in the bathtub and found it had a pin sized hole leaking from the seam. Unfortunately, I have tried several repairs but nothing is working in the seam. So, it was very comfortable when filled with air. But I think I got a defective one with a hole in the seam...

I slept on this pad on the ground in a tent and in a hammock and have loved it both ways. I took it backpacking. It''s not the lightest or smallest, but it kept me warm. That R value is legit. I tried sleeping in my hammock without it as the forecast called for warm weather in the high uintas (over 10k feet), but as should be expected, some colder weather surprised us. So I grabbed the pad and was instantly much warmer in my hammock. Also - if you use it in the hammock, I found not inflating it all the way allowed me to position it easier while providing the separation to stay warm. It also helped me wiggle around and get comfortable. I recommend trying it out before you go. Great pad, happy with the purchase.

I have a older shorter version of this pad, 49" long, something like the newer ProLite. I decided I am tired of propping my legs on my pack while sleeping so this pad fits the bill.
About this new pad, looks ribbed which is shown in the listing photos but it really has pronounced ribbing (ribbed foam) inside. This was a surprise. The wing lock I suppose is an upgrade. The old valve style worked fine for me. The valve is one-way it is only for inflation, not deflation. I was hoping the valve would prevent re-inflation when I was rolling the pad up. Not a big deal. With a cited R valve of 4.4, this is an upgrade from my older pad. Another review complained about thickness, measuring 2.5", not 3.0. Well, I care about the R value. and T-a-R cites 3 inches, and 2.5" rounds to 3! Ha! Note the pad does not come with a repair kit. I''ve had my older T-a-R for years without puncture issues. No big deal. The pad come with a nice stuff sack with straps. Nice touch. I am happy and worth 5-stars.

I bought this and received it just in time for an early June camping trip. It worked out well, and I had a good time. Don''t get me wrong, it''s a good product, and I would in fact recommend it. The surface is less squeaky than some pads, if you have the patience, the self-inflation does a pretty good job, and it can be topped off easily. The valve is an innovative design. The r value at 4.4 is close to what I was looking for in a 4-season pad. Overall happy with the pad, and would have given 4 or 5 stars, but just discovered something I hadn''t noticed, and now of course it''s too late.
In the photo you can see it, but somebody wrote in sharpie: "Irregular". The writing is pretty small compared to the size of the pad, so I am not entirely surprised I didn''t see this in the months I''ve had the pad. As I said, no problems so far, but nowhere did "Tazzeys, LLC" indicate that they were selling an irregular product. You have been warned.

I seem to remember several negative reviews with photos stating that this pad is defective, that it bloats (where did those reviews go? Were they removed? Am I losing my mind?). I ignored them hoping it was a case of people abusing the pad by overinflating it like someone suggested. That isth absolutely NOT the case. I''ve used this pad for a month very gently, without overinflation, and I was woken up to a very ugly noise of the pad coming apart. Look at the photo. It''s absolutely defective. Maybe you''ll be like most users who will only use it on extremely rare camping trips, maybe 10 days a year, and don''t use it enough to learn it''s a time bomb. But it''s only a matter of time before it comes apart due to this basic manufacturing defect.... the adhesive keeping the foam and the skin together is not permanent. Warranty doesn''t solve a manufacturing defect because you''ll have to keep asking for a replacement, wasting your precious time. I started using this just outside the refund period, so I called the seller sunny-sports to see if they wanted to do a refund outside the refund period, and they lied and claimed a contract with Amazon forbids them from refunding products outside that period. Amazon does NOT prevent sellers from refunding people a couple of months after purchase. You''re just dealing with a bad seller and bad product.

Another 2 points are that it’s so quick and easy to put up coupled with the fact it compresses down to a very manageable size makes that third of a day we spend sleeping not just manageable but pleasurable.
